Have you been trying to learn French for a while? If so, you know that it’s not really easy.

Hack #1 Put some French around you.
We live in a busy world so if you aren’t reminded about your commitment to learn French, it’s likely that you’ll just forget it. In order to see good results you need to study everyday so any reminder is good to take.
Think of proudly displaying your souvenirs from your trip to France in your home. Having a French quote on your phone or in your wallet. Following some French accounts on social media, or having a French book on your night stand. Anything that reminds you about French is good to take. Make sure French is part of your world constantly.
Hack #2 Listen to spoken French every day.
Your brain will naturally soak up the language around you.
You won’t even notice that it’s happening. Have you ever seen a baby trying hard to learn a language? No, because they don’t. And yet they all learn.
As an adult your brain still has this ability and you can harness it easily. Just listen to some French song or podcast. It’s ok if you don’t understand it. You just need to have it in the back ground. It’s what I call the daily French bath and all my clients are required to do it every day because it makes a huge difference.
Hack #3 Focus on what matters and ditch the rest.
You don’t want to learn all of the French language. It’s over 100 000 words by the way. Way too many for you to learn. You only need to learn the things that matter to you. What relates to your work, your passions, maybe your family and a few other topics. Make sure to identify these few key areas and to focus on them. You’ll save so much time and frustration by avoiding to learn things that don’t matter in the end. By the way, identifying what’s relevant is the first step when you become my client, or you join my French Fluency Accelerator program. It’s so important that we do it first thing.
Hack #4 Learn with what you love
Are you trying to learn with an old French book that you hate or with an app that teaches you only silly things? If so, that’s a really bad idea. Your brain is wired to work with things that bring you pleasure, so make sure you seek out resources that you really love and learn with them. We’re very fortunate to live in a time when the internet can deliver us all the French content we can dream of. You really want to take advantage of it and choose the things that really light you up.
If you don’t know where to find them, there is a full 1-hour workshop to help you do that in the French Fluency Accelerator.
Hack #5 Follow a proven process.
Most French learners really have no idea of what it takes to become fluent. How would they? It’s not like this was taught in school.
So you waste a lot of time, effort and sometimes even money trying to learn French with systems that are not efficient, or even with no system at all.
By the way I did this too. I actually learned 5 languages successfully and worked with hundreds of students through trial and error before I nailed down a solid process that really works for everyone.
I feel really blessed that I now get to work with my clients and to follow a process that’s easy and adaptable, to help them develop the French skills that they dream of.
